Privacy Policy

The short version

This website is run by parent volunteers at the Lowell Elementary PTA. We collect as little information as possible, we use it only for PTA business, and we never sell it or share it for advertising. If you ever have a question about your information, email [email protected] and a real person will answer.

What we collect

You can browse this entire site without giving us any information. We only receive personal information when you choose to send it:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
  • Event RSVPs: your name, email address, how many people are coming, and any notes you add.

There are no visitor accounts or logins on this site.

How we use it

Form submissions go to the PTA board members who need them: a contact message is read and answered by the board, and an RSVP is used to plan the event and send you a confirmation email. That's it. We don't add you to mailing lists you didn't sign up for, and we only keep submissions as long as they're useful for PTA business.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, roughly where visitors are located (city level), and what kind of device they're on. This helps us make the site more useful for Lowell families. Analytics data is aggregate and doesn't identify you personally. We do not use advertising features, we don't track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your personal information.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics cookies described above. We don't use advertising cookies.

Services we link to

Some things the PTA offers run on other companies' platforms, and information you enter there is covered by their privacy policies, not this one:

  • The Sea Star Store and PTA membership run on FutureFund, which handles all payments. We never see or store payment card details.
  • The Lowell Log newsletter signup runs on Mailchimp.
  • The school calendar is a Google Calendar feed.
  • We link to school and district sites (LBUSD, California State PTA, and others) that have their own policies.

Children

This site is written for parents, guardians, and the adult school community. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through one of our forms, email us and we'll delete it.

Where your information lives

The site and its form submissions are hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure in the United States, and access is limited to current PTA board volunteers.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and its effective date.
